Exhausted and irritable!!

From: Renae3629 - 1 year 35 weeks ago

Hi everyone so I am a little freaked out. I have had a thyroid goiter for about 10 years right, and I had ultrasound after ultrasound biopsy after biopsy and more than enough blood work done... and NOTHING was wrong the ending said! He said I was fine! And I was and am not fine! My goiter has grown drastically in size causing pain to eat and swallow all the time. I just got a new set of blood tests done and they are saying I’m hyperthyroid! Which really doesn’t make sense cause I have more of the symptoms of hypothyroid! I do not understand almost all the symptoms are for hypo not hyper other than the irritability! I’m beyond frustrated all the time and I cannot lose ANY weight! I go to the gym 5 days a week and eat healthy I am so annoyed because if they try to put me on meds to “regulate” my thyroid and I gain more weight I will be livid! I am 5’10 and I weigh 175!!!!! I have never weighed this much I usually am between 130-145 and I am even uncomfortable going outside! Plus the fatigue is so very intense that I have to drink ample amounts of caffeine to get through the day sometimes. I need help I can’t deal with this but I refuse to be more fatigue and gain weight while being on meds! I just want a doctor to listen to me...

I know how hypothyroid affects one's mood cause my mum went through this. Unluckily at that time mostly physical issues were concerned as those to work at steadily. No one really prescribed her antidepressants or visits to therapist. Only close female friends could relate to her and cheer her up. Now my friend is struggling with some hormonal disorder and she is usually frustrated. So, she found a sort of emotion tracker for Android (I'm sure there's also such at AppStore) where she writes her feelings every day and then she can email the monthly data for her doctor. You should try one of those. I don't remember the name, it's Smth from healthcare software development.
